Pregnant, Advised Inserting Tablet Vaginally. Will This Harm Baby?

Hi i am 7weeks 3days pregnant .i had a missed abortion 1.5 years back.but this time,all the blood tests seem normal but doc is advicing duphaston 10mg. twice daily plus 2tablets of susten 200 to be inserted viginally.i am worried that it might ha r some side effects on my baby.apart from this i am also prescribed folinz and mcbm 69.kindly suggest

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
As you had previous abortion, your doctor might have prescribed progesterone pills as preventive measure to wards the miscarriage.
According to FDA susten belongs to category B drug in pregnancy, so the chance of fetal harm is very less.
Whereas duphaston belongs to category D. But there are no proved evidence against the drug usage.
So continue them as adviced by your doctor.
