Pregnant. Ultrasound Shows Hypoechoic Lesion Suggestive Of Hematoma. Any Ill Effect On Baby?
Hi,I am in 6th week of my pregnancy, and during my ultra sound scan it was found that there is hypoechoic lesion of size 20.3*6.0mm seen in the subchorionic region suggestive of haematoma...Doctor could you kindly tell me is that going to affect my baby...Also during my ultra sound scan it was found that my baby is 6weeks and 1 day..Is that going to be accurate?Kindly answer my query..Regards,Priya
Hi Pirya, welcome to healthcare magic. There is nothing to worry at all. The hypoechoic lesion is very small. A hematoma or separation at that gestational age either causes abortion (if large enough) or causes nothing. It all or none. And your hematoma is too small to affect your pregnancy. I advise you to have some rest and avoid straining for any reason (cough, constipation, sex...). It will be also useful if your doctor prescribed you progesterone to support your pregnancy. The ultrasound may differ from your dates of course a few days in the first trimester, reaching to more than a week in the third trimester, so this is normal. I wish you good luck with your pregnancy. Dr. Ahmed Bahaa.
