Passed Due To Low Blood Pressure. Could This Be Related To High Intake Of Potassium?
I have been taking a protein shake for the past year every time I finish working out which contains 250mg of pottassium, and now I switched to a shake that contains 750mg of pottassium, I took this new shake for the first time one day before I passed out with low blood pressure, could this new shake be the cause of me passing out?
Dear Sir/ Madam Welcome to HCmagic It is not likely that you passed out because of high potassium content of your supplement. Because high potassium intake will result in abnormally high potassium levels only when there is a kidney problem or there are other rare disorders of potassium metabolism. Still since you have this symptomatic episode and you are taking a supplement with high potassium content please get your serum electrolyte and serum creatinine levels checked and get reassured. Feel free to discuss more. Sincerely sukhvinder singh
