Painful Hives. Blood Work Normal. Done Biopsy. Earlier Had Tooth Abscess

Hi, I am a health person, but 3.5 month ago, I started having BAD hives. They are very painful and spreading into all parts of my body. I saw a great immunologist and he ordered a lot of blood work. Nothing showed up, not even allergies to oak, grass, dogs, etc. No immune system problems.... he gave up and sent me to the dermatologist. They took a biopsy from different parts of my body and I am waiting for the results. I am worried that they will not find anything and I will be in pain forever. One thing that comes to mind is that the blood work showed some inflammation. The immunologist was not worried about, but the student who was taking my biopsy said that it looks like my body has been dealing with some bacterial infection. The only thing that comes to my mind is my tooth where I had an abbess twice already. Around the time when I started having hives, I had my braces installed and I was told by an orthodontist that the infection is showing up ( no pain, yet from the tooth). Is it possible to hives from the tooth cysts? Thank you. Anya

hiiiii Anya...

See, if you are getting painful hives, that do not disaapear in 3 days, that too after infection, it goes in favour of Urticarial Vasculitis.
Also your blood picture is in support of this diagnosis.

Anyways Dear Anya ,dont worry at all. It is a completely curable disease with a course of antibiotics along with some anti allergic drugs and topical steroids.

Biopsy will give the conclusive diagnosis.

I would like to know whether these hives come and go or they are persisting for more than 3 days.

It would be highly informative if you can send me your pics of the lesions. Else you have given a very nice detailed description.

Kindly tell the biopsy report once its in your hand along with answers of my questions.

Get well soon.

Stay healthy.
