Painful Cramp In The Left Side Of Neck. Feeling Numb. Diabetic And Using Insulin. What Could It Be?

three times this last week I have had a sudden, painful cramp in the left side of my neck, like a severe charlie-horse that causes pain in the left side of my face and head that is so sudden and severe I fear I am going to black out before I can get the cramp to release. It probably only lasts a few seconds but then the left side of my face remains funny, almost numb feeling for a long while. I am diabetic on insulin and over 50. Is this a migraine? tension? what?

Hi welcome to Health care magic forum.
Thanks for choosing H.C.M.Forum.
You have got sudden pain full cramp, in the left side of your neck, face,
and head. You fear that you may fall down. It lasts for only few seconds, and after relief you feel numbness of the face for a long time. You are 50+, and diabetic, using insulin.
Most probably it is either hyper glycemia, (more sugar,) or hypoglycemia.(less sugar than the normal) other causes are cervical spondylosis, probably in the begening.
I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have a C.T.scan of the neck besides other routine tests for confirmation.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery.
Best regards.

Hello
Your symptomes are not very clear. so we cant judge the problem what is going on actually.
first you should go for x ray inestigation of neck.
As you are Diabetic there may be developing diabetic neuropathy.
your problem doesnt seems to be migraine or it may be due to tension
most probably it may be diabetic neuropathy
You can also consult to a neurophysician
ok
