Pain In Hip, Radiating Towards Left Side Of Back. Took Naproxen, Muscle Relaxer, No Improvement. Give Me Suggestion

My husband has been having pain in his hip for over a week. Hurts when he walks, sits, puts clothes on, ect. It is on his left side and he says it is severe pain. He does not know how he did this. He said that it also shoots pain around his hip towards his leg. He is now having pain down the left side of his back when he looks down. He went to a dr and they have him naproxen and a muscle relaxer that have done nothing. What do you suggest

Hi

The pain and radiation of pain mostly suggests ureteric colic this may occur due to ureteric stones or due to UTI. Better to get gone USG abdomen and pelvis just to rule out any stone in the ureter or renal pelvis and urine routine once. This will help to diagnose the cause and also further management.

For now have plenty of fluids, lime juice to make urine alkaline, antispasmodic drug to relieve pain. This will help in reducing pain. But the main treatment is to find the cause and managing it. So get done investigations and get back to us for discussion on further management.

Regards
