On BP Medicines.Woke Up With A Sore Throat And Hacking Cough. Can I Give Amoxcillin?

my husband takes blood pressure medicine. He woke up this morning with a sore throat and hacking cough and is continually feeling worse as the day progresses. I have recently been prescribed amoxcillin 875 mg by my family dr for the very same thing. It going around our communinty. I had some amocillin left over, says take 1 every 12 hours. Can he take these until he gets to talk to his dr tomorrow?
