Occasional Burning, Gassy Pain Beneath Ribs In Left Chest. Will Upper GI Endoscopy Reveal Presence Of Infection Or Ulcer ?

I am a 64 year old Caucasian male, 5'9, 155 lbs, in generally good health except for Clinical Depression and HBP. (I daily take Effexor, Klonipin, and Lisinopril.) For some time I have been experiencing occasional periods of burning, gassy pain in the area beneath my tenth rib, in my left chest. (There is no pain in the back.) These pains are nor regular, and on a scale of 1-10, would be around 5 or 6. They are alleviated by Ranitidine Hcl, but I need to take more than the usual dose. My gall bladder is "packed with stones," according to an ultrasound done 7 years ago, but I have no symptoms of gall bladder distress. I am scheduled for an appointment with a GI specialist in August. Will an upper GI endoscopy reveal the presence of an H. pylori infection or ulcer, if one exists?
