Noticed Swelling At The Back Of The Throat And Rashes Causing Soreness

My name is Brittany. I have been suffering allgeries really bad! I have been taking zyrtec-D and ibuprofen for pain. My ears are killing me I m coughing like crazy tvroat hirts really bad to the point I sont want to swallow. But I hust notice from the back of my throat and twards the roof of my mouth is swelling and very red and sore I sobt kbow what to do? Thank you!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query swelling at the back of the throat and rashes causing soreness is pointing towards condition that you have a Strep throat along with Tonsillitis. it is due to bacterial throat infection. It could be possible that pus pockets have been there which is leading to severity of symptoms. I would suggest you to take Augmentin and Pantoprazole once daily. You should take chewable vitamin C tablet one to two tablet daily for relief. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get blood tests done and go for sputum test as well. Do warm saline and chlorhexidine gargles for relief. Avoid spicy and hard foods. Drink plenty of water and fluids. You should put antimicrobial ear drops to prevent pain and infection.
