No Feeling In Right Leg, Foot And Ankle Icy Cold, Tingling. Any Ideas?

Today i was sitting down for about 10 minutes. I tried to stand up and had absolutely no feeling in my right leg. It was dragging on the ground and when i took my weight off the other leg my ankle rolled and my body collapsed. It took about 5 minutes for the feeling to start to come back but its been about 8 hours and i still havent gained full feeling. My foot and ankle have been icy cold and tingling. What could cause this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Sudden loss of sensation in one limb could be due to nerve compression or compression of blood vessels as your symptoms started after sitting for a while. Usually blood vessel compression will return to normal once pressure is released and it will result in tingling sensation and numbness for a while due to increased blood flow.

If your symptoms are persisting you need to get examined by a doctor for any nerve compression. you may need to get few tests like MRI of spinal cord to know any disc bulging and pressing over nerve.

Hope this answered your question. Consult your doctor for further management.
Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries or doubts and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wish you good health. Take care.
