Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... For over a year I have had pain in my luq (my gastroenterologist thinks it is subcutaneous nerve entrapment). I have also had episodes of dark urine, diarhhea and/or very light colored stools. The episodes are becoming more frequent. I am a 57 year old female trying to decide when/if I should go back to the doctor. I do not have insurance, so I don't want to see the doctor if it is stress or normal aging. I also experience muscle weakness in my right arm on occassion. I'd like a doctor's opinion.

Hi,
Dark urine and light colored stools with pain in abdomen indicate towards possibilities of cholestasis or obstructive jaundice.
Other possibilities like urinary tract infection with gastritis or peptic ulcer disease, etcetera. Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is.
Avoid spicy food, alcohol, smoking and caffeine drinks. Use tablet Pantoprazole before breakfast for one week.
Get abdominal ultrasound, liver function tests and urine examination done. Please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
