Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Apnea is seen in preterm newborns.

It is due to immaturity of his respiratory center.

Apnea requires treatment with stimulation, oxygen, ventilator and CPAP depending on its severity.

Other associated problems such as low blood glucose, sepsis, meningitis to be ruled out with appropriate investigations.

Continue to keep the child in hospital till he is off apnea episodes and to continue the treatment as the treating doctor advised.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
