Need To Worry If Required To Repeat Blood Test In 2 Months?

I have been given a result of 66 GT Gamma count & just told to have another blood test in 2 months, should I be worried? Last year I had a lot of celebrations & many drinks & at Xmas, also was taking Paracetamol due to a bad cold & cough. GP said all my other blood tests were fine.

Thanks for writing to HCM

Increased GGT indicates liver injury due to alcohol intake.You are rightly advised for repeat blood test after 2 months.
You need proper clinical examination and few more investigations.
Other investigations include routine hemogram,RBS(Random blood sugar),Viral markers,Ultrasound of abdomen.Further investigations can be done if needed.

You may need medicines after proper checkup.
You should completely avoid alcohol and increase your physical activity in the form of walking.
Avoid fatty and fried junk food.
