i think it works like this piyush. you have a water supply network and one or two houses dont get water, you go replace the pipes or remove the blok right? why will you try to remove or check all the pipeline? only the ones leading to problem you check and work on it right? same way if there is a block then only it will be found and replaced na. in the beginning there is no block that is why you and me are still normal.

Ther are usually three main vessles for the heart. If one is blocked the stent is put for the blocked vessel. But the stent usually be there for 4-5 years, i donot understand why your father needs other stend for the same vessel. Is he taking the medications properly. Are his cholesterol under control. The vessels may get reblocked if he is not taking the medications properly, not mainting his cholesterol levels.

stents are mesh like subtances used ...they will be inserted into the blood vessel which supply the heart...will help to strenthen it so that it will not be blocked ..and there is proper blood supply to the heart...

hello sir, my dad is at age of 67 and recently he had sholder pains,so we went to hospital and checked.from cardiogram doctor tell us that he had mild heart attack Dr. Ahok patil from kolhapur, suggested that you must have to go for Angiography. from Angiography doctor tell us that he has Blockage of 80 % followed by 99% in RCA (right coronary artery). then they attepmted for angioplasty but was not successful, due to hardning of blockage, so he suggested for Bipass Surgery . so we take the advice from KLES hospital Belgaon (Dr.MR.Dikshit and Dr.MR. Porwal), Here thay see the angiography CD and suggested that as previous doctor attempted for angioplasty and was not succesful, there is no need of angioplasty and as it is in RCA we dont need to go for Bipass surgery also .KLE s doctor gives some medicine and said it will be cure by medicine no need to take tention and ask to come after one month for checkup again. now 15 Days has been passed. But still my dad is having pains of Both ARMs and Sholders, he is taking some pain killers like Combiflam. Please please please suggest the Risk factor and proper guidline to follw i am very much warried about my dad. Thanks in Advance and wating for your response...... Regards, Anand kajave 0000 Pune

Hi doctor, my dad had an heart attack 3 weeks back , had an angioplasty and a stent was put in LAD that was 99 percent blocked and now there r still 2 more vessels with branches that are 80 percent blocked ... My dad has diabetes from 25 years and hypertension from 10 years and also has kidney disease ( kidney function is 50%) .. He has no pain in chest no breathing problem no symptom at all , he is walking 30 minutes regularly and 2 days back eko was taken which showed 55% ejaction rate ... He is on plavix , aspirin , nitro and few more for blood pressure and cholestrol ... Now the question is what should be our next step , I visited few doctors and they all recommend bypass surgery where as one of the cardiosurgeon was not sure whther bypass will benefit more or risk more , ao he thought of taking medicine and healthy diet and exercise approach , plss i need ur advice whether he should or this major bypass surgery or just carry on with healthy lifestyle because he has no problem no pain nothing

My father died of a sudden heart attack in his home. I cannot get over this regret I am feeling ? I should have gotten him LIFE ALERT and he could have pressed it and been saved. He was 76 years old. He had several health problems including diabetes (controlled), hypertension (controlled), stage 4 kidney disease, and atrial fibrillation (controlled by digoxin). He had two strokes in the past, the last being 12 years ago, which paralyzed his left side, but he got some of it back and could walk with a cane. He also had a mild heart attack about 15 years ago, which was treated with balloon angioplasty. I wanted him to enjoy his final years, so I let him drive, and do his own things, etc. I am VERY REGRETFUL that I did not get him LIFE ALERT (or another similar product). I realize that sometimes when people have a heart attack, they do not know it, and cannot press the button, but I am still very regretful over this. I don t know how I am ever going to forgive myself for this. please help! Thank you everybody, you are very helpful. God Bless You all. Just for the record, he was found on the kitchen floor in the sitting position (on his bottom), with his knees bent, feet flat on the floor, and his head slumped down to his chest. One arm had an abrasion on it on the upper side of the forearm , as if he may have nicked it against the table or chair that he was near.
