Migraine Before Periods, Heavy Bleeding, Light Headed, Pain In Lower Abdomen. Should I Meet A Doctor?

Hi, I am a 22 year old female, and I have 3 children. My youngest is 7 months old, and I had my tubes tied right after I had her. I have noticed here lately that my cervix is with in an inch of my vagina opening. I get migraines right before I start my period, bad enough that I cant get out of bed for 3 days. nothing helps with these migraines. my periods are terrible, and I flood constantly. I am beginning to worry because I have been feeling light headed, and sick to my stomach, with a radiating pain in my lower abdomen... Should I contact my OB/GYN?

hello,
Thank you for consulting HCM.Most of the migraine headaches are associated with mentruation as you may feel stress at that time.If the flow you are having during your periods is more than that you usually have, then you need to consult OB/GYN.But in my view you need to take prophylactic treatment for migraine to decrease the frequency of attacks. For heavy bleeding you can take tab.tranexa plus mefenimic acid if the flow is more than usual and you need to change more pads in a day.Thank you.

Hello.
I went through your complaints. Your headache may be interlinked with your periods. But that headache need not be migraines. Migraine is unilateral.
You can try ordinary pain killers containing ibuprofen for your headache.
The cervix being within an inch from the vaginal opening (may be prolapse of the uterus) and heavy bleeding needs a complete clinical examination + hormone analysis + USG abdomen.
With this you can arrive at a diagnosis and treatment accordingly.
Best wishes

Hello,

Heavy bleeding is commonly associated with uterine (fibroid/ polyp etc) or cervical pathology. Migraine and other symptoms are mostly regarded as premenstrual symptoms. Healthy life style and proper medication can eliminate this.

Here, you must consult with your OBGYN for pelvic examination and relevant investigation like pelvic USG, hormone assay etc to rule out the pathology. Take suggestive treatment accordingly. Hormonal medication and hemostatic agents are usually given.

Maintain genital hygiene properly. Be well.
