Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

It is very unlikely for a knot or swelling still persisting after 5 years of injury and is still painful. It definitely needs a thorough evaluation.

An xray of the local area along with Biopsy may be needed to define its histological nature.

The treatment will be based upon the diagnosis made.

I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for further workup and management.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
