Lower Stomach Cramps, Had Only 1 Period In Last Year. Taking Nurofen. Suggestions?

Hi, I have had lower stomach cramps for the last 2 days, like someone is gripping my lower insides or like Ive strained something. I used to get similar ovulation pains once a month, but I have only had 1 period in the last 1 1/2 years - I am 52 - Nurofen eases the pains . It is not all the time, but I do notice it when it comes & then goes ?
