Lightheaded, Headache, Spotting After Periods. Taking Birth Control Pills. Any Chance Of Pregnancy?
I had my period twice last month then after a week of my period I've been spotting for 10 days now. I was taking birth control pills and missed taking it sometimes. I have been sexually active with my boyfriend. Right after my period we had unprotected sex the following days. I've been feeling lightheaded, had light headaches and been sensitive to smell that I almost puke. Is't possible that I got pregnant while on birth control?
Hello and welcome to HCM, The oral contraceptive pills are effctive to prevent pregnancy if taken regularly. If you miss your pill once, you can take your missed pill immediately when you remember the missed dose. If you have missed your pill for more than two days, then there is possibility of getting pregnant even if you continue the pill for rest of the days in the month. Pregnancy can be confirmation or ruled out by taking up pregnancy test. However, there are certain safe days in the menstrual cycle. Few days before and after periods are safe and pregnancy cannot take place during this period. Lightheadedness and nauseating feeling can be due to some other cause. Consult your physician for clinical examination.
