Leg Fracture And Foot Drop After An Accident. Will It Get Cured ?
I am smita sen,age 27,Female.I have met with an accident 3.5 months back .I was injured with leg facture.In leg tibia and Femur bone is broken.I have undergone a surgery in which rod is put in the leg. I also had foot drop.Now i am wearing a foot drop sprint. Doctor has said that the nerve is streched and it will take time to recover.Please let me know will my foot drop will be cured.How much more time it will take to recover.

Generally in such type of nerve damage it can take maximum of 6-8 months for complete recovery and in some cases it may take 12 months.But for fast recovery physiotherapy is the utmost thing and exercise should be done according to advice of physiotherapist ingoring the pain and avoiding painkillers .
Moreover you can take hypericum 30 4 tabs 4 times in day uptil you get recovery as per your wish.

The Foot Drop may have occurred due to dorsiflexor injury or peripheral nerve injury. Treatment of foot drop is directed to its etiology. The common treatment would be Tendon Transfer, After a tendon transfer procedure, the your leg will be placed in a cast and restricted to non–weight-bearing ambulation for 6 weeks. Subsequently, you will receive physical therapy for gait training. Just take adequate rest and go for regular follow up. Take Care.
