Is There Any Problem If I Feel Suffocated While Swallowing Solid Food?

Hello sir/madam, from past few days I have been observing that when I swallow solid food I feel suffocated and feels like as if it will go to my wind pipe. My throat doesnt pain nor do I have any throat infection or suffered from cold. But I have to take the food out chew it more and then swallow it again. I dont know whether it is just my feeling or I really have some problem.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
YOu have not mentioned your age.
But still this complaint is for difficulty in swallowing for solid foods.
You should get this examined by an ent specialist and get done a test called as Barium swallow.
In this test the barium a liquid is to be swallowed orally and then sequential x rays are done to see if there is obstructing mass in the food pipe or if it is a functional disorder.
Your ent specialist will examine your throat as well and if required a endoscopy will be done to see up to the level of vocal cords to rule out any disease or mass lesion.
In doubt do reply
