Is There Any Home Remedy For Treating Bruise On Arm Which Is Painful To Touch?

My 16 year old daughter woke up with a large bruise on her arm ( inner elbow) it is painful to the touch and I can feel a small lump there. Does she need to be seen by her doctor? Is this normal? Is there something I can do at home to ease her discomfort? What can be the cause?

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
From your history, your daughter seems to have developed an ecchymosis or a blood clot underneath the skin.
Did she have any trauma to that area? If she has had a history of trauma, that could explain the ecchymosis.
If she had not had any trauma and has developed the bleeding spontaneously, then you may need to look for an underlying bleeding disorder. You may need to check her platelet count, bleeding time, clotting time and prothrombin time.
Hope this helps you.
Take care.
