Is There Any Chances Of Getting Pregnant While Using Birth Control?

Hi Dr. Lundi,
My name is Natalie and just had a couple of questions about birth control. I started taking birth control Loestrin Fe 24 on Aug 3, first day of my last period for the first time. Later I engaged in unprotected sex 10 days after taking the pill religiously at the same time. However, my partner never ejaculated inside me. What are my chances of pregnancy?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The chances of pregnancy is very unlikely, not because of the pill but because ejaculation has not happened. You have to take the pills regularly for contraceptive action, otherwise it won’t work.

Wishing all the best.

Thanks.
