Is The Period Of Present Intercourse Safe From Pregnancy?

hi doctor. i'm new in using contraceptive pills. I started using Althea a month ago last April 25. I had unprotected sex 1 week after my first tablet and had my menstration last May 20. I started taking my 2nd box on my 3rd day of menstration. I've had unprotected sex since my 2nd box even within the first week. is that safe? how about on the pill free days. is it still safe to have unprotected sex?

Hi,

Once you have started taking oral contraceptive regularly without a break and at the same time of day. You are protected through out the course including pill free days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
