Is Tetanus Injection Ideal In Case Of A Cut On Toe?

My 10 year old daughter was in the ER the other night from a cut on her toe. We were not sure if she would need it sewn up or glued.

She didn't have to have either, but the doctor suggested that she get a tetanus shot since she is almost 11.

I agreed to it and she had it. It has been 2 days and her arm is red splotchy, warm and swollen. Is this a normal reaction?

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. It is a normal reaction to tetanus shot but instead of just plain tetanus shot as she is 10 years old, Tdap would have been a better choice.

Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
