Dear Dr. I am 27 years old, got married about 10 months before & I stayed with my wife for 50 days. We had frequent sexual intercourse but no pregnancy happened to her. After that she had delayed periods problem but after medication she is fine now. I am going back to her for 40 days after 1 week so I thought to have my reproductive abilities examination. I just got my report & results are as below;
Active 3rd Hr: 15% Abolish 3rd Hr: 10% Non – Motile 3rd Hr: 75%
Doctor told me that I am suffering with low motility problem as clear from above result & he advised me GENTAPLEX capsules for 1 month. When I checked details of GENTAPLEX on internet & found that it’s only for penile erection but I don’t have any erection problem. Is GENTAPLEX also affective to increase Motility rate? Or is there any other medication better than that for motility? Please advice, your kind advice in this regard will be highly appreciated. Thanks & Best Regards
Your report suggests low sperm motility with semen infection.
Infection is indicated by presence of excessive pus cells.Culture and sensitivity of semen should be done to prescribe appropriate antibiotics.
Normally motility should be at least 55%.
Your sperm count is normal.Normally it should be at least 20 millions /ml. You have 36 millions/ml,so it is normal.
Morphology of sperms are also normal. Motility is expected to improve with control of infection. If infertility persists then you may need assisted fertilization techniques.
