Is severe stomach pain with nausea sign of stomach ulcers?

I went to the ER last Monday with severe stomach pain that was located in the middle of my stomach and nausea. When I m hungry the pain is worse until I eat it subsides a little. At first the ER thought it was my appendix then after a CT and labs they said I had a kidney stone on the left side but this was not what was causing my pain they said they couldn t find what was wrong they did a manual pelvic exam and slapped it as PID I m in school to be a paramedic I have never had an STD of any kind. They have me doxy and flagyl which are both making my symptoms worse. Could I be right in thinking its a stomach ulcer?

Gastroenterologist 's  Response
Hello. Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist.

Pain in middle of abdomen that is relieved after taking meals is due to duodenal ulcer. I will suggest you to get an endoscpy examination to confirm that

Wish you a good health

28, white, male. I had an endoscopy and the dr found 9 stomach ulcers. That was a week ago today. I tested negative for H Pylori. I have changed everything such as diet and smoking as they told me, but I am still having major stomach pains. I had to go back to the ER where they did some more test, but didn t find anything. I m taking Prilosec, Pepcid and Mylanta. This morning I woke up and it felt like a cat was trying to claw its way out of my stomach. That s what it felt like the day my PCP sent me to the ER- they were bleeding. Is this intense pain normal for someone with newly diagnosed ulcers? Will it go away, or could it be something worse that hasn t shown up in my blood/urine work or during the endoscopy?

I am a 27 year old, 6ft, just under 12 stone male who has suffered 4 seperate times with severe stomach cramps over the past 2 years. When it occurs, it literally puts me to the floor holding my stomach and is an intense pain, like a churning in my stomach. When it happens my stomach feels as solid as concrete. 3 times before it has lasted between 1 - 3 days however I have experienced it on and off since Friday 21st to Monday 24th September just gone. My doctor has prescribed a box of 30mg Lansoprazole Gastro-resistant capsules and has given me a form to book a blood test at my local hospital, although she wasnt too helpful in explaining either the causes or what it the matter with me. She mentioned that I could have a stomach ulcer but she said this was unlikley. Just looking to see if anyone could shed any light on what is wrong with me?

Hi, I have been suffering from erosive gastritis for 2 years now. My attacks sometime lasts for hours and I get my attack almost everyday. Antacids don t seem to take effect most of the times. I sweat alot and cannot speak when I get my attack. I have done a number of test from endoscopy, blood test to heterophile antibody test, which all came back negative. They just say that I have a few ersoions in my stomache. I have taken all sorts of medications from esomoprezole for almost a year, to ranitidine , pylokit. I am taking vitcofol injection (10 shots), sanofide, emanzen, rabeprazole , zenpride, ofloxacin at the moment but It doesn t seem to help. My right breast (rib cage) hurts first and the pain spread around back. I asked the doctors why right breast hurts but they say it is not related to my erosive gastritis, but whenever I get the attack, my right breast hurts the most. I had my gal bladder removed a few years ago.

Is there a reason I vomit on a morning the week leading up to my period? My mum and sister both suffer from chronic stomach ulcers (diagnosed in their 30 s...I m 32) I do suffer from acid on my stomach and usually control this, although it can be extremely painful, it doesn t make me vomit. It is always the week before my cycle and I wake up with the pain and sickness. Is it linked to my cycle or could it be stomach ulcers?
