Is It Possible That I Have A Urinary Infection?

I have a swollen navel red in color, swelling goes up and down (not pierced) and I feel a twinge sensation in my navel. I m taking Align, rarely get acid reflux and occasionally hear fluid gulping and swishing in my abdomen. Is it possible I have a urinary infection? I there something over the counter I can try to clear this up?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms are not indicative for urinary infection, but to possible navel hernia or any infection.

I highly suggest to consult a general surgeon to evaluate your navel problems and determine whether you have infection of bowels or navel hernia. Based on the findings, it will be decided for the treatment.

Meanwhile, I advise to:
- avoid activities that involve stretching of abdominal muscles (weighing heavy objects).
- eat often and small quantities
- avoid straining when passing the motion.

Hope it helped! Let me know if you have further queries!
