Is It Normal To Have On And Off Fever When Having Influenza?

My entire family has been diagnosed with influenza. Is it normal for the fever to come and go? We seem to be on a roller-coaster of recovery, with the fever disappearing, then raging back (103 in the case of my 4 year old, 101-102 for the rest of us) within 8 hours. I'm wondering if we've got a secondary illness hitting us.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern and from the history given here I could say that flu is a viral infection and this could not happened such frequently if you people have such symptoms then this may not be due to the virus, the reason of this could be something else and need to be investigated, have a nice day.
