Is It Normal To Have Fever Having Recovered From Hepatitis B?

I had hepititis b in May. The virus is gone now and my liver enzymes are back to normal. Starting a couple of weeks ago when I would take any of my medication I would spike a fever of 100 or more for a couple of hours and then it goes back to normal. Why?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

At that time because of acute Hepatitis B virus infection, fever can be present.

If HBsAg ELISA test is negative after six months of exposure or first detection, then HBsAg infection can be ruled out and no further worry. But if after six-month HBsAg ELISA positive, then the patient can be lifetime carrier of it.

If now no fever, then no treatment needed. Consult a gastroenterologist for the examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
