I am 7 months pregnant and i have a pain that started a couple days ago. I sleep on my side and when I woke up I had an intense pain in my chest. Like sleeping on my side and having my chest "folded" all night gave me this pain. It's hard to describe, it's my chest bone, right between my breasts that hurts. It's dull but intence and positional. should go to my doctor
First, I want to reassure you that if the pain you have is positional it cannot be anything life threatening. I think the sensation you are describing is literally what you said... You slept with your chest in a funny position and now you are either bruised or have inflammation of your sternum and rib cartilage... Thins is called costochondritis. It will get better with time and you can safely take Tylenol (Acetominophen) or Paracetamol at the normal adult dose for pain. If you get any other symptoms like shortness of breath, palpitations, coughing, or anything strange please contact your doctor.
Otherwise I'm sure you will feel better soon with just rest and pain medication.
I hope I was able to answer your question today and that my advice was helpful.
I hope you feel better soon, Dr. Brown
