Is It Normal To Blackout Being Diagnosed With Epilepsy?
My daughter 12 years old suffering epilepsy as diagnosed by medical team of Medical colg kolkata. She was 1 st time blackout at her age 8 for 1 mint or less. After that she was given Lamitrogine dt 12.5 mg. After 1 year again she black out and her doges increases to 25 mg. That medicine continued till date. Last week she again black out for 1.5 mint. I consulted wit Dr. and doges increased up to 37.5 mg. Now I like to consult with some specialist and want some advice what to do. Plzz give some advise.
I have noted your daughter's symptoms and they are suggestive of epilepsy.
Detailed evaluation would require doing an MRI brain with epilepsy protocol and EEG (electroencephalography).
Lamotrigine is a good and effective anti-epileptic drug and the appropriate dose would depend on her body weight. Please get back with her weight.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,
