Is It Infection If The Skin Beside The Nail Is Healing, Peeling Without Taking Antibiotics After Being Cut ?

Before I went on vacation I got a pedicure & the person doing the pedicure cut the side of my toe, near the nail. It became infected. I we t to the doctor & they prescribed Bactrim. I took it. However while I was on vacation in Mexico, my doctor called me & said it was a staph infection & Bactrim will not treat that. So they prescribed Cipro. However, I was not able to start the meds until I got home which was 7 days later. In those 7 days my toe seemed to heal. I never took the Cipro.

Now, the side of my toe is peeling where it was infected. Should I be worried?

Hi.Thanks for writing on HCM.
Topical antibiotics like fusidic acid will help resolve the infection and will afford relief.Ciprofloxacin need not be started since you donot have fever or any other systemic symptoms.Hope this helps.
