Is It A Tumor ?

What does it mean when they say I have an extra bone after reviewing my brain MRI . The Dr. said she has to run a CAT scan now to look at the bone? Is it a tumor ? She said it is probably benign ? but didn t say if it was a tumor.

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic,

Tumor means a swelling and could be due to anything , it could be cancers either benign or malignant and it could even be due to inflammatory reaction. In your scenario i suggest to wait for the CAT scan to get a clear picture about the bone growth.
