Hi,
The possible causes of your problem according to the history are:
- After undergoing
abortion, it will take some time for regularization of the menstrual cycles. As you got periods after 5 to 6 weeks of stoppage of the bleeding there is a possibility for more thickening of the endometrium, which can lead to heavy flow comparatively.
- Rarely retained products of conception inside the
uterus can lead to heavy menstrual flow.
-
Pelvic infection in case of surgical abortion. Which can lead to
urinary tract symptoms also.
If the pain and bleeding persist, better to consult your gynecologist once get examined and undergo an
ultrasound, with this work up the possible cause of your problem can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly. If there are no retained products or pelvic infection, anti-fibrinolytic drugs can help in decreasing the menstrual flow and antispasmodics in controlling the pain and possibly in next menstrual cycles your flow may get normal.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
