Is Feet Swelling With Redness Related To The Heart Problems?

Hi, I am 69, 6 ft and weigh 250. I HAD TWO STENS PUT IN 3-1/2 YEARS AGO. I have had no related heart problems since, just a-fib which i take warfarin for and monitor inr at home. I take enalapril, plavix, levothyroxin, lipitor, amlodipine, taztia xt, ranitidine, metoprolol, and benicar. My feet are swollen if I sit too long. My left foot is slightly red on top, but no pain. The red gets lighter if I elevate my leg. It is slightly warm and did itch a little but has stopped. I am very active and feel great otherwise. Thanks for any help.

Swellings of your feet seems to be swollen because of many drugs you are taking which may result in swelling, poor venous return but redness and tenderness seems to be because of Some local infections caused by local collection of fluid. The best thing you can do is try to keep your legs up most of the time till it heals. Take broad spectrum antibiotic and antiinflammatory analgesic. Give mild cold compress locally. Amlodipine has known side effect of feet swelling. You are also taking other medicines like warfarin. Also your kidney function needs to be tested. It will be better if contact your doctor.
