Suggest Remedies For Swollen Feet And Ankle

My ankles & feet have been swollen for a couple weeks (right foot more than left). I do take a daily water pill, but doesn t seem to help with swelling. I have some redness(pale( in the right shin from foot to half way up to knee. It is somewhat tender in that area. I do have a porcine aortic valve & have been on Metroprolol, Furosemide, Digoxin & Warfarin for A-Fib. Concerned about swelling, tightness & redness of right foot, ankle & leg. Are these signs you have before a heart attack?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

NO, these are no symptoms of a heart attack but may indicate that the heart is not working as it should, heart failure.

A heart attack normally presents with predominantly chest symptoms though other symptoms occur as well. Common symptoms include chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, dizziness, nausea, clammy, feeling of impending doom.

You should consider seeing your doctor for assessment to check the function of the heart. An echo may be needed if there is no recent one.

I hope this helps
