Is Augmentin Safe?

I am 37 weeks pregnant and had a throat infection for which I was given ceftas for 5 day. Its improved my condition but a very little infection seems to be left. My doctor has recommended augmentin 625 for 3 days as I am close to delivery. Is it safe?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

At this stage of your pregnancy the augmentin should not effect the baby. If you are still not feeling well, then you should consider using the medication as suggested by the doctor.
Sometimes even after completion of a course of medication, it may take additional time to return completely to normal.

It would be important to also ensure that you are getting sufficient rest.

I hope this helps
