Is Anxiety Related To The Abnormal EKG Result?

i am 52 years old and recently had my routine exam with abnormal ekg. if i can remember correctly dr said something about atrial enlargement. not sure. i am going for a echo on monday. if echo is normal is there anything to be concerned about. dr didn't want me to worry. also, i have recently in the past 60 days have suffered with anxiety. i have good cholesterol numbers 174 total, 69 ldl, 94 hdl and 50 tryglicerides. blood pressure is labile depending on my anxiety. when calm it is around 120/80. thanks.

Hi
Thanks for using healthcare magic

Stress or anxiety could lead to abnormal cardiac rhythm in form of premature beat and that could lead to abnormal ECG. In such cases, there in nothing to worry. If your ECHO is normal, that's mean, your cardiac is normal. If you want, you can try some antidepressant to control your anxiety. That would help you to stay relax in stressful period. If you need further help, you can ask.

Thanks
