I had recently had a surgical abortion 2 days ago very light bleeding and cramping. However today I have pain in my lower abdomen when I first sit up or sit down it feels as if I have a blood clot that I can't pass. Should I worry? What can I do to help pass a blood clot?
Hello dear Understand your concern Yes abdominal pain is common after surgical procedure. It is mild and should be remain for 1-2 weeks. But following causes should be rule out like injury to uterus/cervix, perforation of uterus, infection, retain product of abortion. So USG scan after 7-10 days is mandatory for above causes. If retain product is there should be removed by D & C or by misoprostol. Take proper rest, healthy diet, maintain pelvic hygiene, analgesic for pain, warm pad application. Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
