I m taking Zovirax for Herpes and I ve noticed while taking it that I ve had a problem getting an erection .......keeping one and be able to ejaculate once I have a full erection.......Could the medication cause the problem as before that it was not a problem
** 1. although commonly reported side effects of zovirax [Acyclovir] include fatigue, headache, joint pain, fever, Erectile dysfunction has been reported by people with associated erection problems, depression, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, pain. [make sure to rule then out with relevant examination and investigations]
2. If you suffered from genital herpes it could be a case of genital nerve problem and/or referred pain [opinion of neurologist is required]
3. make sure to check with LFT [liver function tests] and RFT [renal function test] since the drug is known to increase liver enzymes and BUN and/or creatinine.
