Infant, Yellow Discharge At The Outer Area Of Ear With Odor Of Infection, Had Rashes On The Ear, Always Likes To Sleep On One Side. Reason?
Good morning sir, My son is 6 weeks old and I just notice yesterday that there yellow discharge at the outer area of his ear. Have check and cfm that it s not from inner part of the ear.. And there s also smell like infection. He had heat rashes over this ear few days ago. He always love to sleep on the left... What could be the reason ? Sorry some typo error on previous msg. It is very likely that you child has caught infection of the outer part of the ear. Clean the area with aniseptic lotion and check if there are signs of infection- redness, discharge, foul smell. If there is any then please visit the ENT/ Pediatrician to get appropriate treatment.

the commonest cause for a discharging ear in an infant[children less than 1 yr of age] is a middle ear infection.his ear should be examined by an ENT SURGEON to get the right diagnosis and treatment.keep his ear dry,dont allow water entry into his ear,i wish your child good health and a quick recovery. dr praveen.
