I Got Swollen Labia Minora After Having Birth Control.

Hi, I am sexually active and recently started taking birth control (I m on my second week) and today after intercourse my left labia minora became a bit swollen. It is poking out of my outer labias and is a bit annoying, but it doesn t hurt and it isn t hard either. It s just swollen and a bit red (possibly because of this swelling). There was a lot of friction so I was wondering if that could be the cause? I just wanted to make sure because I don t want to have to go to my gyno unless I have to because it s a bit of a trip to get there. Thanks.

Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum .

This seems like a mild swelling due to the friction and force during sexual intercourse, which may have lead to a minor tissue damage. I suggest you to wait for a coupe of days , it must subside on itself , if not , I would advice you to see the doctor for an examination .

Meantime avoid sexual intercourse till the swelling subsides , use cotton undergarments and maintain good personal hygiene

Regards
