Hypothyroid, High Heart Rate, Normal BP, Prescribed Lopressor. Will It Further Lower The BP?

I have hypothyroidism , but my resting heartrate has been 125 and 138 at my last two appointments. My blood pressure is always good 118/80. My dr wants to put me on Lopressor. Will this make my blood pressure drop even more? And one more question, if I have hypothroidism shouldn t my heartrate be slow? What would cause this?

hello n welcome ...
usually heart rates should less in cases og UNTREATED hypothyroidism cases. it may more with patient who is under medication, ANXIETY, tension etc.
if ur doctor feels that u need lopressure means there will be some reason, so dont worry, be faith in ur DOCTOR and continue medication.
good luck and wish u a normal thyroid function.
