How To Treat Severe Cough Along With Breathing Difficulty And Losing Voice?

I m a 28 year old female. I have been losing my voice for the past week and for the past four days I have had a really hard time breathing. It feels like an elephant is on my chest! Two days ago I started coughing. I m not coughing up anything, but I am coughing quite a bit. What should I do?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi and thanks for the query,
Cough associated with breathing difficulty indicates that the pathology is in the lungs.
If you have fever then the probable diagnosis will be pneumonia.
If your symptoms are getting worse at night along with wheezing tehn the probable diagnosis will be hyper reactive airway disease.
Please see a physician. You have to be examined to determine the exact cause.
Do some steam inhalation 5 times everyday. It will ease your cough.
Regards, dr Kishori.
