General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It is very good for you to be cured of such a serious disease. Fever usually implies temperature of more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit, as it is normal for some people to have temperature of 99 degree Fahrenheit. A further point questions the diagnosis, as according to you, the condition was diagnosed by Widal test. It is very likely for non infected patients to have positive Widal test in Endemic areas. Blood or stool culture is the gold standard test. Widal can be used in endemic areas but is suggestive of typhoid only if shows rising titres on two separate occasions
