How To Treat Enlarged Lymph Gland Below Right Ear?

My right ear continues to feel blocked as though it has fluid in it and I have tinnitus in that ear. The lymph gland below my right ear is slightly enlarged also. I had sinus surgery 6 months ago and feel much better but the ear problem still persists. What can I do?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query symptoms enlarged lymph gland below right ear are probably due to swollen salivary gland , lymphadenopathy and reason for this is obstruction of duct of gland, infection in gland and any kind of tumor. Along with swollen gland the enlargement is also occur due to viral throat infection along with supersceded bacterial infection.. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist and get it examined .Doctor may prescribe X-ray,CT SCAN and MRI to confirm diagnosis and start treatment accordingly. As of now drink plenty of water, give warm compresses to that area and you can take over the counter medicine like ibuprofen to reduce pain and swelling. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin or penicillin along with anti inflammatory at least for 10 days . In case of tumour lymph node biopsy has to be done followed by treatment according to the severity of the tumour.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
