How To Treat Abdominal Pain?

I had a misscarraige 4 weeks ago and lately more so today i have had heartburn and a very bad stabbing pain in the right side of my abdomen (womb). Is this a sign of an infection or is it just a sign i could be having my first cycle since? I have also had intercourse could this have caused it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The pain could be premenstrual. However, if you notice worsening pain or development of fever, then vaginal swab microscopy and culture are required to rule out infection.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
