How To Get Rid Of Itching Sensation Of Back And Leg?

after taking zocor for an extended period of time, I realized IT was the cause of my itching back, legs, neck, etc. and not the misdiagnosed X 2 - shingles. I stopped taking it about a month ago. Although, it got somewhat better on my back... it still is a major problem on my upper legs and neck. How long will it last and any help with the itching would be appreciated.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

As per your case history you are suffering from Prurigo Simplex.

My treatment advice is:
1. Do not scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like Fusiderm-B cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medicine like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days.

If the problem persists, then consult a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
