Hello,

I can understand your concern. It seems that you are suffering from an allergic reaction as you have rightly assumed. If Benadryl alone is not helping, you can add Loratidine 10 mg (Lorfast) once a day for 5 days. You should feel better after the first dose.

Sometimes tongue swelling is found due to presence of ear infections also which will get resolved along with infection of the ear and sinusitis.

However, if the swelling, itchiness or other symptoms worsen or do not improve at all, you should seek immediate care at hospital.

I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Let me know if you have follow up questions.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
