How Long Will It Take For Prednisone To Cure Hives Which Is Caused Due To Medicines Taken For Grave S Disease?

My wife has hives and the doc prescribed prednisone to help, how long does it take for the meds to kick in? She has Graves disease and the medication she was taking has a side affect for hives. Is there any other way to get rid of the hives for immediate results?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this drug reaction that you wife had. The most important thing to do is to discontinue the medication and the hives would slowly clear off over time. There is no emergency in getting them off as they present and represent no further danger. Exercise some patience and all would return to normal without the need of any further aggressive medical intervention.

I hope this helps. I wish you well and thank you so much for using our services. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
